Ava's Closet is a non-profit organization supporting foster families and foster children.
On any given day the average number of children in foster care in the United States is 414,863. Foster parents need all the support they can get to protect and nurture these vulnerable children.
Typically, a foster family has only an hour or two of notice prior to a child arriving at their home. Often that child will bring very little with them. Through your donations we are able to provide First Day Comfort Bags filled with clothing, toys, books, and more to help families welcome a child into their home.
Throughout the time a child is in foster care we continue to provide support by delivering birthday gifts and holiday gifts... to give each child a little extra love.
Our free holiday parties offer a fun and safe space where foster children can play together, and foster parents can find warmth and camaraderie with others who are sharing similar experiences.
We also offer a private and free shopping experience for foster families- by appointment only.
As former foster parents ourselves we understand that not everyone can take a child into their home, but you can help by making a donation to support foster families. It's a simple way to make a big difference in a child's life.
