Ava's Closet is a non-profit organization supporting foster children and foster families.
On any given day the average number of children in foster care in the United States is over 400,000. Foster parents need all the support they can get to protect and nurture these vulnerable children.
Typically, a foster family has only an hour or two of notice prior to a child arriving at their home. Often that child will bring very little with them. Through your donations we are able to provide Comfort Bags filled with clothing, toys, books, and more to help families welcome a child into their home.
Throughout the year we continue to provide support by delivering birthday gifts and holiday gifts, to give each child a little extra love.
Our free holiday parties offer a fun and safe space where foster children can play together, and foster parents can find warmth and camaraderie with others who are sharing similar experiences.
As former foster parents we understand that not everyone can take a child into their home, but you can help by making a donation to support foster families. It's a simple way to make a big difference in a child's life.
